Author's Explanation

My going to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina was a result of an unexplainable calling on my mind as well as my heart. My reason for going was unclear, except that I felt an overwhelming sense that I had to make the journey. Asking my mother to accompany me was mysterious as well. I am happy she said "yes" and shared this miracle of grace with me.

On November 14, 1988, we left New York City on a Yugoslav Air Bus. It seemed everyone I talked with on that trip shared the same sense of receiving a personal calling of somehow being led to this sacred village

My mother and I witnessed several events in Medjugorje.  On the third day of our visit, while standing side by side outside the St. James Church, we watched what has been called the miracle of the sun.  It was on that morning, when I had awakened shortly before dawn with music and later words being poured into me like water. I began singing a beautiful and majestic song I had never heard before. 

This song, The Lady of Medjugorje, became the inspiration for the To the World I collection of music and subsequent collections.

The To the World project itself is the result of the most moving spiritual experience I have ever known, one that brought me healing, reconciliation and a peace not of this world.  While praying the rosary in the St. James Church with the local people and pilgrims, I was caught up in an ecstasy when I heard a very distinct voice say, "Come sing my songs to me; come sing my songs for me. Prepare the song. The song will be heard throughout the world even in different languages. We will give you the courage to do this."  It seemed as though this dialogue took several minutes, and in its conclusion I was in awe shedding tears of joy and wonder from the experience.  Upon sharing this encounter with my mother, her words came as an immediate confirmation when she said, "Do whatever He tells you to do." These were the same words Mary said to the servants at Cana, the place where Jesus performed His first miracle.

I have drawn upon the strength of this experience many times as I bring the songs and messages TO THE WORLD. What you hear and see in this collection of music videos are the fruits of what the calling asked of me then and is asking of me now.
